Thank you for your interest in the farm, my name is Victoria Legris and I grew up here. The farm story starts back in 1982 when Dennis Huneault and my mother, Margaret Legris started Dacre Nursery. For over 25 years, Dennis and Margaret grew and sold countless annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs to plant lovers across the Ottawa Valley. Dacre Nursery was a hive of activity every season. While I didn’t realize it at the time, I was lucky to have grown up in the business where I spent many hours after school and in the summer transplanting, watering, and helping customers.
The business eventually came to a close and the farm took a well deserved rest around 2012.
In 2021, my husband, Sam Grant and I moved back to the farm. I had known for years that I wanted to return to agriculture in some form. So, when we began to learn more about the expanding domestic cut flower industry in Canada, starting a flower farm seemed like a perfect fit and it has been a beautiful and challenging adventure so far!
